The tourist offices are meant to provide the required assistance to the tourists as well to maintain standards in the industry. Every state is provided with tourist offices which are run by state government and the central government. As such there are regional tourist offices as well as national ones. In India the ITDC (Indian Tourist Development Corporation) is the central agency that caters to the tourism industry. In Jaipur city both ITDC and RTDC ( Rajasthan Tourist Development Corporation) operate. The primary role of these organizations is to maintain and develop the tourist sites in the region.
