Birla Mandir
Situated in the south of Jaipur and just below of the Moti Dungari
castle, known as Laxmi Narayan Mandir. It is a modern architectural
marvel, built by Birla family of industrialists known for its many
other temples in India.
The temple is a good example of the secular traditions India, shown
over the centuries. The temple has been very recently constructed in
white marble and has three domes, each portraying the different
approaches to religion.
The temple attracts a lot of devotees in all over India. The temple
houses the idols of Vishnu called Narayan and his consort Lakshmi,
Goddess of wealth and good fortune. The walls of the temple are
adorned with various Hindu symbols and quotes from the Gita and the
Upanishads. It is surrounded by large lush green gardens. Hindu's
major festival, Janamasthmi is celebrated in the temple with
thousands of devotees.
