Samode is located in Jaipur at a distance of 42 kms from it. It
lies on the way to Shekhawati and is famous for its gorgeous havelis
and forts.

of the Nathawat family that served as the Prime Ministers of the

The way to fort's main entrance is through the inside of the
village. The distance can be covered from the highway by a camel
safari.The inside of the fort reflects expressions of the medieval
architecture which has been renovated a bit for the oriental
formality.
The Samode Palace, which has now been turned into a heritage hotel
has been rated as the best heritage hotels and has been visited by
important dignataries from all over the world. On the first floor of
the palace is Sultan Mahal, which is a magnificent hall with
beautiful marble pillared verandah. The room is decorated with blue
tile work and the walls are decorated with patterns painted with
vegetable dyes. The furnishingsare provided with intricately carved
silver furniture, imported from Nepal. On the left side is the
Durbar hall, which has several paintings. The Hall of Mirrors is a
hall decorated with minute fragments of mirror on the walls. The
room looks wonderful at night, when the sparkling light reflected
from the mirrors illuminate the entire room. Above the palace, on
the hill, lies the Samode Fort.
Some 3 kms from Samode is a beautiful garden which is known by the
name Samode Bagh. The restoration works has replaced its former
beauty.
Best time to Visit:
Samode is very hot in summers with temperature rising upto 45 C and
cold in winters. The best time to visit Samode is October and March.

The closest airport is in Jaipur. Samode is at a distance of 42 kms
from Jaipur and the nearest railway station is at Jaipur, which is
connected to all major cities. Samode is also connected to other
