In the colorful Pink City the temples are as much splendid as the
city itself. Most of the temples in Jaipur have been built by the
maharajas of the city and as such bear a strong resemblance with the
monuments that constitute the pride of Jaipur. Some of these temples
have been built in the premises of the royal buildings of that time.
The temples as well the monuments reveal the grandiosity of these
Rajputana rulers. The temples are scattered throughout Jaipur, be
that plains, foot hills or palaces.
Pilgrimage centre built by maharaja which lie beyond the gardens
amidst low hills are delightful spots for religious people. Peace
and devotion buzz at such areas. Some ancient temples, pavilions and
holy kunds (natural spring and water tanks) occur in lush landscape.
The small temple of the sun god built by Diwan Kriparam is famous
all over Jaipur. The temple is built on top of the highest peak and
is visible from all parts of the city. The presiding deity of Jaipur
is Govindeoji, Lord Krishna.
The temple is located between the Chandra Mahal and the Badal
Mahal. The site was as such chosen that the rulers of the state
could view the temple from their residences. The temple attracts
large number of pilgrims specially on the 'Janmashtmi' the day of
Lord Krishnas birth.
Temples like Lakshmi Narayan Temple built in marble a few years
back is a good worshipping place. In Shila Mata Temple there is
image of the patron of goddess which is worshiped by thousands of
devotes. The image was brought from Jessore (now in Bangladesh) by
Raja Man Singh.Temples build in more recent times are also famous.
Many churches are also present in Jaipur.

Charbujaji Ka Mandir, Govindji Temple, Kalla Hanuman Mandir,
