Situated amidst the Man Sagar lake and the Nahargarh hills, Jal
Mahal was built by Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799 A.D. Jal Mahal Palace
is located at a distance of 6.5 kms from Jaipur. The first four
floors of this building is under water, only the top floor remains
outside. Interestingly, the Nahargarh Fort offers a panoramic view
of the lake and the Jal Mahal palace.
The Palace is an exotic holiday destination used for the royal duck
shooting parties. A large number of migratory birds arrive at the
lake during winter. The most enchanting place in Jaipur is Jal Mahal
that attracts a lot of tourists from all over the world.
