
Kanak Vrindavan or Kanak Ghati is a very beautiful place in
the foothills of Nahargar, in the outskirts of Jaipur city. The
entire place is filled with the aura of transcedence and the same is
reflected by alluring gardens, waterfalls, ponds and flowering
plants. The place houses many temples that have stood for almost
three centuries. The place was named Kanak Vrindavan by Maharaja
Sawai Jai Singh when Amber was his capital. The complex is an
important tourist destination for it provides a pictersque garden
for excursion as well as sacred hindu place.
Location:
The place lies in the city outskirts some 8 kms from the city
centre. The place lies towards north-east a little away from Jal
Mahal.
Famous Attractions:
The Kanak Vrindavan gardens houses many temples which are main
tourist attractions apart from the beauty of the gardens. The temple
of Govind Deoji and Natwarji at Kanak Bagh are cery popular. The
Mansagar lake which used to be a river runing through Jaipur in
ancient age is believed to be sacred. The spot is sacred as holy
water from several rivers is belived to be accumulated here for the
performance of Ashwamedh Yagna.
The Kanak Bagh that lies between the the two temples is a well
designed garden consisting of eight geometrical sections, four
chhatri's and four Karbani's. The garden is provided with a series
of fountains and a central stage.
Visiting Hours:
The garden is open from 8.00 a.m to 5.00 p.m where as the temple
closes at 7.00 p.m.
Accessibility:
The place can be reached by boarding a bus or taxi at Subhash Chowk
which is situated in the Pink City. Amer Road connects the place
with the city which is further connected to the rest of the city and
other cities.
